**Many of our customers are aware that when NOA offers product that is
past date or close to date. This is still excellent product and a great
deal and here is why. When manufacturers place dates on product
they are typically very conservative with the dates because they have
absolutely no control of the product once it leaves their distribution
center. At Nite Owl Aviary, we provide an exceptional environment
for our product. In the summer months our warehouse is kept at 66
degrees and in the winter months our product is never allowed to freeze.
Let me explain the the frozen part..... Placing product in a
frozen environment is a great way preserve product when you get get a
good deal on pricing. Product that is in a pelleted form can
actually be damaged when subjected to multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Typically pellets will tend to "crumble" due to the moisture content
between 5-8% causing the pellets to expand and contract so very slightly
when allowed to freeze and thaw multiple times. When buying a
quantity of product, re-bag into freezer bags sized to your usage over 2
weeks, place in the freezer and leave there until you are ready to use.
As with all of our products, we even guarantee our dated
product.......if you aren't happy....we aren't happy!! Higgins is an
exceptional product in part due to the quality of their bags. The fact
that their bags are "Nitrogen Flushed" virtually eliminates oxygen and
the "buggy bag" problem. |
